COVID-19 BOOSTER VACCINATION

General information

Target
The COVID-19 booster is available to all employees and members of their household aged 16 and over.

The Federal Office of Public Health and the Federal Commission for Vaccination recommend the COVID-19 vaccination in autumn/winter for the following groups of people

  • People aged 65 and over
  • People aged 16 and over with certain pre-existing conditions
  • People aged 16 and over with trisomy 21
  • Pregnant women

COVID-19 vaccination is not recommended for people under the age of 65 without risk factors, as the risk of severe disease is very low.

Vaccine
The Comirnaty LP.8.1 vaccine from Pfizer will be used.

Timing
The booster vaccination in autumn 2025 should be administered at the earliest 6 months after the last COVID-19 vaccine dose or after a known SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Certificate / proof of vaccination / vaccination card
The Swiss COVID certificate system was deactivated on 1 September 2023. The cantonal tool VacMe has also been discontinued. If desired, please bring your vaccination card (‘Impfbüchlein’) with you to your vaccination appointments so that your COVID-19 vaccinations can be recorded there.

FLU / INFLUEENZA

General information

The flu vaccination is available to all Corporate Centre employees and family members living in the same household aged 12 and over.

The flu vaccination is recommended for people at increased risk of complications:

  • people aged 65 and over,
  • pregnant women,
  • and people with chronic illnesses.

To better protect these people, not only they themselves but also everyone who is in regular close contact with them should be vaccinated against influenza. This includes close relatives, childcare workers and healthcare professionals.

Vaccine
The quadrivalent vaccine Fluarix Tetra from GlaxoSmithKline is used.

Timing
The flu vaccination season lasts from mid-October until the start of the flu season. In Switzerland, the flu season usually begins in January. The flu vaccination can be administered at the same time as the COVID-19 booster vaccination. Anyone who is concerned about side effects can wait a week between the two vaccinations.
